Learnt through Youtube-Kids gift box with goodies

Hello everyone..
After two long months, its feels good to be posting a craft.. Due to some personal reasons the delay was unavoidable.. so without further adieu, lets get started..

Today my post was about a tiny gift box made with popsicle sticks with some cute goodies inside them.. This works well as a birthday gift for kids..The most important thing about this box is that I have learnt everything through youtube.. Sure, its very helpful and inspiring to create many crafts..

 I have collaborated many ideas and modified them according to my need and availability. There is an originally made goodie too... Take a look..

 The box had these items..

a)A ring made with pipe cleaners 

 

b)A butterfly card with lollipop

c)A popsicle shaped greeting card

d)A minion toy made with thermocol(Original idea)

Handmade toy for Kids-Bus

Hello everyone..

Last week, When my kid showed me her school circular about doing a home project (Topic-Ur kids favourite means of transport),little did I know that she likes bus this much.. I thought of doing a simple car with some paper plates and chart paper..

When she was excited about the big bus, then came the idea of turning a toy box of Talking Tom into a bus..Though I had an idea in my heart, as it was  my first attempt, I was a little nervous.. The finished bus was like this..

It all started with the outer carton of a toy and a piece of thermocoal.. Cut out the external flap and fold the cover to form the shape of the front of the bus..

 

Now for the wheels, I have made circles of about 4 cm radius..out of thermocoal and pasted it onto the sides of the box with fabric glue..

Now comes the fun part.. We can decorate the bus with color papers, some stickers and shiny cards for the windshield and back glasses..

Voila..

DIY- Decorated Hairclips

Hello everyone..

Beautiful things lies around us everywhere... Its up to us to identify it.. So when I bought a strip of plain hair clips for my kid, I thought of beautifying it .. 

I have used some gems,  stone lines, beadstrings, and pasted them with fabric glue..

 

Here are different designs on different color clips..

DIY Handmade Queen's Crown

Hello everyone.. 

Schools are the places where children learn many things.. Apart from academics, it is good to see other talents and skills of our children which they display at their school. So, for one such occasion,my kid needed a queen's crown for her skit..

So,I thought, why not make a crown myself? It would be a fun craft..Isn't it? My daughter loved the idea was very happy to help  me..

 I have started making this crown using an old hairband and a paper plate..

Note:
The paper plate in the above picture is a complete plate which is folded into half.Please don't cut along the center of the plate..

Fold the paper again into its quarter size and draw the crown picture on top of it..

Now cut along the design..

Now, when you open it, the main layout for our crown is ready..

Fold the crown shape along the hairband by inserting the hairband though its center..

Now decorating this crown is up to us... I have used the back side of the crown as the center part like this..

and the back side looks like this..

Now, we can cover this entire crown with golden paint and decorate it with beads,stones,crystals and anything which we think will make this crown look royal..

After some enhancements and embellishments.  Voila...

 The side of my crown looks like this..

DIY Popsicle Sticks Pen stand

Hello everyone..

We all worry about our clumsy work spaces.. right? It is true that if we organize our work space, we can easily save time, avoid unwanted stress and of course, find out what we look for very easily.. So today I give you a pen stand to keep all your pens,pencils, paint brushes,etc., safely..

As I have mentioned in almost all my posts(Sorry..I know😒), I love flowers.. Whatever i think to create, the flowers keep appearing on my mind unconsciously..

I saw a kid enjoying his Popsicle ice cream on my way home. As usual, the flowers appeared on my mind and  I got an idea..A fence with climbers..Wow.. It was a wonderful glowing bulb moment for me(Yay..🙌)

 

On that thought,Let's see how my popsicle pen stand looks..
Ta da...

Now we can see how was it done..

I have pasted 3 Popsicle sticks together with a half sized crossed stick.. this forms one side of the pen stand.. Make 3 more to get 4 set of fence like structures.. Stick them at each others end to form a box.. This is our pen stand..

Here comes the interesting part.. I have made some flower patterns using this stamp on some color papers..(dark and light green, yellow, dark and light pink)

I pasted those flowers on each side of the pen stand to create the look of climbers on a fence..

If we look in this picture, we can see the inside of the pen stand and the back of the flowers..

OHP Sheet-Glass painting-Kuthu Vilakku

Hello everyone..

"If you want to give light... Learn to glow.."-Famous Quote.

Its Celebration time..Festivals like Diwali and Karthigai Deepam are synonymous with lamp and light... we lit the lamp to bring light in our life.. Today i have made a colorful glass color painting of a traditional Kuthu Vilakku.. on an OHP Sheet.

The step by step DIY procedure  makes recreating this painting or inspiring to create another painting, very easy and enjoyable...

I have outlined the hand drawn pattern with glass outliner.. Let it dry for atleast half a day..

Now, use the golden yellow and orange glass color to fill the area..Use these colors immediately for creating the blending effect..

While filling colors please give atleast 10 mins before using the second color..so that we can avoid unwanted mixing of glass colors..

The only way to remove mixed glass colors is wait for a day for them to dry completely and peeling them away.. Even that may ruin our painting.. So please take care and be patient while filling glass colors..

A tiny safety pin is used to burst the occasional color bubbles formed by the glass color tube....

Crafts-DIY-Shilpkar mseal-Ganesh Chathurthi-Mantap/Maadam

Hello everyone..

"May all your wishes come true with the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha- HAPPY GANESHA CHATHURTHI"

Today I have posted a swami mantap using mseal,chart paper,paints and a cardboard..

Things needed:

1. A white chart paper
2. Acrylic paints
3. Shilpkar mseal
4. A card board

Procedure: 
 The pattern of the mantap is drawn on a chartpaper and pasted on a cardboard..

Shilpkar mseal is mixed well and pasted on the mantap..

Now we color the mantap with yellow filling and brown outline.. Then they are blended..

The painted mantap looks like this..

Now we can give any dark color as background..I have given black as background and outlined the mseal work..

We can add some embellishments to decorate the mantap or left as such according to our need..

The finished mantap/maadam looks like this..
